      When Americans think of Gaza, if they do, it is generally of a bomb-riddled, dysfunctional hellhole declared "unlivable" by the UN. Yet as Abusalim observes, "What is missing is a meaningful conversation about Gaza, led by Palestinian voices . . . The result is an obscured understanding of the Palestinian experience in Gaza, one that overlooks the rich, diverse, and sophisticated experiences of Palestinians who live there."
