Readers are brought into a world of magical butterflies in this opening title in the Butterfly Wishes series. Not long after Addie and her family move from the city to Brook Forest, she chases her pet dog into the forest out back where she meets a talking butterfly named Sky Dance, who informs her that she’s actually a magical Wishing Wing. “Have you ever felt really strong, like you can do anything you put your mind to?” Sky Dance asks Addie. “That’s because of us!” After getting a crash course in the ins and outs of the butterflies’ magic, Addie helps them figure out how to deal with an enchantment that has been cast on some of the newly hatched butterflies. Gr 2-4-Enter a world where magical butterflies not only exist but can talk and grant wishes. Readers meet Queen Rose Glow, Sky Dance, and Shimmer Leaf, who live in the Silk Meadow. The special powers of newly formed butterflies are endangered by an enchantment that must be broken. Human sisters Addie and Clara discover the magical world in their new home and team up to help the butterflies regain their powers, and earn a wish for their efforts. There are limited illustrations and lengthier chapters compared with similar titles.
