Poor girls.
Lydia is not used to working for her money. But having money? She’s used to that—and lots of it. Now that she’s in La-La Land, Lydia will do whatever it takes to maintain the L.A. lifestyle she was born to have. If it means she has to tell a few little lies to get there, well, a Hollywood girl’s gotta do what a Hollywood girl’s gotta do, right?
Rich Boys.
Being with Jonathan is playing with fuego. Everything about him spells trouble for Esme, from his trendy hybrid car to his expensive clothes to his so-called ex, Mackenzie. What’s worse is it seems that he wants to keep Esme hidden away, a secret. Doesn’t a guy who likes you want to show you off? Unless you’re just being used.
Richer Girls.
Anyone who’s anyone will be at Fab, the exclusive party that wraps up L.A.’s fashion week. That’s why Platinum—neurotic music superstar and Kiley’s new boss—is desperate to snag an invite. Kiley has the unlikely power to make it happen . . . or say good-bye to her California summer.

Gr 9 Up -In "The Nannies" (Delacorte, 2005), readers met Kylie, Lydia, and Esme, three unlikely allies who work as nannies in California. In this episode, Platinum -s TV show has been canceled, but the rock star wants Kylie to stay on and help with her kids. Platinum -s personal life is a mess -she is addicted to drugs and alcohol. Esme is having a relationship with her boss -s stepson, while still balancing her relationship with her boyfriend, a paramedic in the barrio back home. Lydia, a perpetual -borrower - of her aunt -s things, is in hot water with her aunt -s partner, Anya. Amid all of these crossing plot lines, which are crazy enough to generate interest yet too glossed over to sustain it, each girl has to deal with some form of turmoil. Mayer drops some serious names and brands, which gives a hip tone to the text at the beginning. However, as the barrage continues, it becomes tedious." -Emily Garrett, Naaman Forest High School, Garland, TX"

LA nannies Kiley, Lydia, and Esme are back, tackling the same issues as in the previous book. Each has her own problem: Kiley is worried about her rock star boss's drug use, Lydia has money problems, and Esme is caught between her old barrio life and her new one. Though still hard to buy, the over-the-top plot will pull in readers.
